OCN (NI) Level 2 Health & Social Care

Description

This course gives a wide overview of all aspects of working in the health and social care sector. A work placement is mandatory unless you already work within the sector in an appropriate setting. Undertaking this course can enable you to stand out to employers in the care profession and develop strong person-centred care skills and knowledge.

Progression Opportunities:
The OCN NI Level 2 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Northern Ireland) will enable learners to progress to the OCN NI Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Northern Ireland) and other higher level qualifications in health and social care specialist and related areas.

Learning Outcomes

• Understand the importance of communication and information handling.
• Be able to meet the communication and language needs, wishes and preferences of individuals.
• Understand own and others’ responsibilities relating to health and safety in the work setting and be able to use risk assessments in relation to health and safety
• Be able to move and handle equipment, objects and loads safely.
• Be able to establish consent when providing care or support.
• Be able to work in a person-centred way.
• Understand how duty of care contributes to safe practice
• Understand the national and local context of safeguarding and protection from abuse and know how to recognise and report unsafe practices

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your booking please do so as soon as possible to avoid any charges. We reserve the right to apply a cancellation fee on a sliding scale as follows: within 24 hours of start time we will charge 100% of the course fee. 48 hr – 24hours before we will charge 50% of the course fee. If you wish to reschedule your booking we are happy to do this free of charge up to 48hrs before the course start date.
