Oberon Training and Development has been developed by the team behind parent company, Oberon Agency, which has been recruiting the best healthcare staff to the Health and Social Care System and Private Health Care sector in NI for over 25-years.

The educational background and experience of our clinical tutors epitomises our ethos that we are committed to ensuring you achieve and maintain the highest standards of practise. The expertise of our trainers cover a wide range of general and medical disciplines using evidence-based best practice.

Dr. Andrew Kerr

Director for Clinical Education

Andrew serves as a subject matter expert for clinical education within Oberon Training and Development. He graduated from Queen’s University in Belfast in 2013 with a degree in Medicine and has developed a passion for clinical education throughout his clinical career. Alongside his primary degree, Andrew holds a Masters in Business Improvement from Ulster University. A strong believer in quality, Andrew ensures that all training delivered is of high standard and meets the needs of customers for their professional development.

Nuala Donnelly (RGN)

Associate Trainer

Nuala is a registered nurse with both the NMC and An Bord Altrainis and also holds an MSc in Oncology, Supportive & Palliative Care. Her extensive experience including roles in Acute Medical; Cardiology, District Nursing and Agency nursing ensures our delegates can receive training tailored to their individual and professional needs.

Tracey Elliot (RGN)

Associate Trainer

Tracey registered as a nurse in 1996, specialising in Trauma and Orthopaedics and then graduated as a Midwife in 2002 from QUB. She took on the role of a Statutory Supervisor of Midwives until 2017, strengthening her passion for high quality, effective and safe care provision within all healthcare settings. Tracey helped develop the Regional Framework for Shared Decision Making in Northern Ireland in 2021. Tracey has experience in delivering training in Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis, AED, First Aid at Work and brings a wealth of knowledge to Oberon Training and Development.

Elaine Kinghan

Associate trainer

Elaine became a health and safety trainer with a vision to provide a supportive approach to helping companies achieve regulatory compliance and peace of mind. Elaine has a strong track record for quality and technical expertise, attention to detail and passion for continuous improvement. Elaine is also a qualified RTITB instructor and a member of the IOSH Accreditation.

Lawrence McAree

Associate Trainer

Lawrence has been involved in delivering routine and emergency first aid for over 30 years. Working as long-haul cabin crew meant treating casualties in situations that were often challenging including remote locations and lack of access to full medical support. He also has worked as an aviation medicine trainer. During the pandemic he moved into first aid training full time. Lawrence gets most satisfaction from giving people the empowerment to help casualties up the chain of survival and giving people the confidence to start CPR

Rob Doyle

Associate Trainer

Rob has been involved in the training industry for over 19 years and has developed and delivered training up to university level programmes. He has an advanced diploma in teaching in organisational sectors both in NI and England. Rob is currently an experienced Firefighter with Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service he combines his knowledge of legislation and policy with practical aptitude and operational know how to bring to life the knowledge and theory contained within our fire safety training courses.

The CPD Certification Service was established in 1996 as the leading independent CPD accreditation institution operating across industry sectors to complement the Continuing Professional Development policies of professional institutes and academic bodies. The CPD Certification Service provides support, advice and recognised independent CPD accreditation compatible with global CPD principles. The Open College Network Northern Ireland (OCN NI) is the UK recognised Awarding Organisation based in NI offering qualifications from Entry Level to Level Five. OCN advances education by developing nationally recognised qualifications. It’s mission ‘to develop and award qualifications which engage, enrich and equip learners for life.” OCN provides accreditation across various sectors including, science, ICT, Health and Social Care, Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Care, Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies, Construction, Retail, Service Enterprise, Hospitality, Sport and Leisure and Tourism.

CCEA Regulation is an independent function within CCEA, they are responsible for the accreditation and regulation of regulated qualifications offered in Northern Ireland (NI). Their focus is on awarding organisations and ensuring that each recognised awarding organisation takes responsibility for the quality and standards of it's qualifications.
